A perfume on the nose with more floral notes than fruity ones especially lavender and violets. The palate is full, plenty of finesse with resolute tannins and a tasty finish. Compete at the same level as Le Boince. Just outstanding. |

Cornucopia of all kinds spice aromas on the nose. Too direct for my taste. On the palate it has all the characteristics of the best Chianti but without the pertinent depth. Very good certainly but known, without transmitting many emotions. |

The 2010 “Poggio delle Rose” pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Bing cherries compote, red flowers, balsamic, oiled leather. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. This is a flashier expression of Chianti Classico Riserva by Castell’in Villa, with a modern touch. However, the sense of place is not even a question. Touch of cigarrbox. In the mouth its a pleasant light mouthfeel with noce nice energy. Balanced acidity and perfect amount of sangiovese bitterness. Present but controlled tannins. Its is not very long but leaves the mouth in a nice balanced way. Really good chianti! |
