I would decant or at min air this a few hours so the new oak wears off and integrates a bit more. Deep purple color. Red cherry, vanilla, white pepper, wet forest floor on the nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med tannins and med finish. A bit too much fresh oak, and hence toasted vanilla, but I believe this will integrate with time or enough decanting. Like the freshness of the red cherry, greenness of the tannins and balanced vanilla and white pepper to bring some roundness. Good effort and like this style if it was not for the overly vanilla from the oak - but that is personal. QPR is great anyways. |
