Slightly oxidised caramel, earth, leather, red over black fruit, plums over currants, a little forest floor/sous bois, with time in glass black fruit gains the ascendancy with some pyrazine. Juicy, fleshy, drying tannins are talc textured but in support of the softly fleshed red and black fruits, a little leather, mushroom and earthiness in support. Nice. |

Very crisp and acidic, with bright red fruit and leather on the nose, then a very fresh, biting attack, smoothing out midpalate to reveal some cool but quite rich blackcurrant, then some dark cherry on the finale. Good stuff. The 09 has more body, more fruit and tastes riper, but this is the one I came back to most. |
