Dark reddish-purple garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, cassis & plums with earthy/dusty & herbal overtones, floral notes, spices, minerals, & a slight hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & mulberries with herbs, minerals, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Quite accessible at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging. Very good QPR as it delivers quite well at its price point.

Day 2 update: This has filled out a bit overnight in an open bottle. I think it needs time. There is a lot of oak and lots of tannins that need to shed, but the fruit is quite fresh and delicious. Give it a few more years.

Original review: 88. This is tasty, but seems a hair thin and lacks a bit on the finish. Maybe time will improve this, but this was my only bottle.

2 hr decant. A lot of sediment in the bottle. Classical but ultimately a bit dull. Very dry, textbook Bordeaux Cab Sauv flavours. Soft tannins. Might improve with more bottle age but I didn't sense any withheld vigour. A grown up claret but unexciting. Not a re-buy at the QPR.

PnP. Drank over 2 days. A bit of charred wood was still evident at first but that integrated nicely. Excellent bottle!

Classic cab nose, nice kaleidoscopic fruit, some additional complexity. Palate is dry and fairly tannic still. Savory. This drinks younger than 18 yrs. fairly dense fruit also. Decent, honest qpr wine.

Bien, mais le bois est encore un peu trop présent. Pas très typé St-Julien. 3-4 ans de cave lui fera le plus grand bien et permettra au fruit de s’exprimer un peu plus.

매우 좋은 품질이다.
탄닌이 부드럽고, 더 숙성하기보단 지금이 딱 마시기좋은 적기로 느껴짐

This was a great way to end the weekend.

First Saint-Julien wine, and it’s off to a good start.

This Bordeaux blend presented young oaky and leathery notes, with a black fruit forward nose.

Blackberry, oak, smooth (almost Northern Rhône like) leather, tobacco and violet on the nose, followed with plum, vanilla on the palate, finished with pepper and cheese down the hatch for an elegant mid-long finish.

Well balanced Cab. Sauv./Merlot blend, great find for $41.

A beautiful deep ruby color. On the nose, dark tart black fruit as well as pomegranate, vanilla, smoke and fig. In the mouth, luxurious, well rounded tannins, (after 1h30 decant). Felt decadent, rich and complex. Paired wonderfully with a typical French Pâté de Campagne, board style supper. The pairing may have elevated the wine??? Notes of dark fruit, cherry cola, black pepper, tobacco and a hint of dill. All in all, wonderful and wish I had another bottle in the cellar.

85 was a great year for Lalande and this bottle proved that. Everything that an aged Bordeaux should be. Poured straight from the bottle and developed throughout the approx 1h of drinking.

The wine is clear, looks brick/tawny in colour has a pale to medium depth . The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

On the nose: Toffee, coffee, candied apple, pipe smoke and damp leaves.
on the palate: Sweet stewed apple, cigar box and finishing with fresh ripe berries.
The body is medium.
The wine has polished texture.
The wine finishes long.
The wine has medium acidity.

It was fantastically complex with an amazing structure.
Faultless balance of rounded tannin complemented by discreet but angular acidity.

I wish I Had another bottle!!
