Very pretty and juicy.

Burgundy Arrivage 2022, no detailed notes taken.
The wines of Louis Boillot, partner of Ghislaine Barthod, are made from there son Clément and somehow they showed similiar traits.
Presented itself in a very good shape, nice fruit, not too overextracted and accessible, lot of freshness and complex in that early stage. You get a a lot of wine for money here.

Drinking really nicely - wouldn't wait much longer - earthy, leather and a little herb on the nose - palate is modest acidity, dark cherry and the same hints of leather and herb from the nose.
The wine looks violet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle.

Mix of red and black fruit, a pure and elegant wine, degustated just after a Barthod Chambolles Beaux Bruns 2010, which was as good, but more on the rough side.

A very high quality wine with surprising depth and intensity. I reckon this will only get better with time as the elements come together and settle down. Drank over 2 full days and the wine only got better and better. Spice, sweetness, elegance, finesse. Purchased three more bottles upon trying and looking forward to opening them in 5-10 years.

This was drinking fine with no real sign of end of life or decline, I'm thinking this is a result of the Stelvin closure that it's still relatively fresh after almost 20 years - Dark, very slight amber on the rim, a nose of cherry, kirsch liquer, plum, spice and vanilla, remarkably smooth on the palate, sweet but considering the 15% alc. no overt heat on the palate that we noticed. Very tasty, not sure as to where it's going from here and don't imagine it's going to get much better, but don't see much changing over the next year or 2 so drink up when you can (92 Points).

Red fruit (more red currant than cherries), a robust and rather masculine wine as it is the style of Ghislaine. Opened the evening before, very good and profited from the aeration. I will not open her hillside wines in the next 2 years.

Showed nice fruity aromas in the nose but on the palate rustical with too high tannins. Wait till drinking this wine.

Above average Krug. 5th time having it and it has been consistently the same. Not worth the price. Disjointed finish that lacks the refinement, elegance one should expect at this price point.

Well balanced and pleasant mouthfeel. Good length. Medium + body and goes better with food than alone. Crow berries and cranberries. Quite pronounced, but still well integrated oak. I poured it straigt in the glass and would advise to do so, not to miss the notes of strawberry and raspberry that disappear after a while.

Showed itself wonderfully, wow, this was - after tasting 60 new burgundy -wines the bottle of the day. So intense and dense flavours yet as well precise and elegant. Mostly dark fruit, slightly parfumed. Stunning with a great accidity to drink at the moment.

My third time having this and while it an above average champagne, it below most Krugs I have had. There is something disjointed in the palate and finish. Not my favorite and no need to purchase again. Reminds me of the 170, same deal.

A big difference between France and the States: the quality of wine at ridiculously low prices at supermarkets. This is a classic example: under 4 euros but a very creditable wine without any of that awful synthetic, cloying artificiality that is characteristic of so much US supermarket plonk. Dulcie's now go-to wine.

Wild slightly underripe berries, balsamic, wild herbs, now ripe blackcurrant, wet wood, like wooden decking after the rain. Such a complex nose. Amazing fruit on the palette, raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, with outstanding delineation. Some savouriness too. The last flavour that remains for a long time is charcoal embers. In the third glass it had become even richer on the palette. This is a spectacular bottle, i think the best I’ve ever had. This was an auction purchase for £54 including fees and delivery, I cannot believe how lucky I’ve been with this bottle. Utterly sensational.

A great damp cellar characteristic on the nose, alongside mushroom, polished wood, spicy wood. Great creamy richness on the palette, like custard. Sweet lemon on the tip of the tongue. Very different to the last time I had this label. Better a little for me.

Nose: really savoury, with decent oak, a bit of leather and a herbal note. Taste: Ok fruit, good acidity and a bit of complexity. The tannins still were further resolved since my last bottle in May 2023, only a bit dryong still. The tiredness in the taste I noticed in my last bottle before this one, seems to be a phase in the process of the resolving tannins. Once more I conclude that Medoq 2009 mostly has a lot of matiere (stuff) and needs a lot of time before the tannins are resolved and contribute to the taste. It would have been interesting to follow this wine further over the forthcoming years. Although the Chateau told me that this could be drunk untill 2024, I would not be surprised when the drinking-window appears to be longer - with still some upwards potential? For now 90 for the nose, 88-89 for the taste. Overall (88-)89.

A little dull but maybe as it only stood for a couple of hours before opening. Hints of dried mushroom and green pepper which follows through on a great palate. Fully integrated, maybe showing just a little too much age, but lovely lovely wine with a longish, lingering finish.

Burgundy arrivage 22 tasting, no detailed notes taken.
Presented itself in a amazing shape, vibrant and with a wonderful nose of fresh and frutiy nose, yet already complex and wooden flavours greatly integrated. WOW, this and especially the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche of Coquard outperformed many other big names.

Side notes: Thomas Collardot started harvesting early, on 3 September.
Most of the wines were pressed with approx. 20% whole bunches. The proportion of new wood varies between 30 % in the Villages appellations and 50 % in the Grands Crus.

Viura of the Finca La Emperatriz, of vineyards between 50 and 65 years old at 570 meters above sea level, of floors of frank-sand structure and with a surface layer of 40 cm of white boulder. It ferments in a concrete tank and in 225 L oak barrels, where it remains for 4 months on its lees. Ageing of 8 months in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 of a wine and 1/3 of two wines) and 8 months in concrete. Mature white grotto, floral, chamomile, citrus, fresh, tasty, creamy, wide, elegant and long.

Ch d'Issan is a big favorite of mine, regarding wine from the Margaux appelation. Vintage 2016 is really great at the moment, this was part of a 14 wine tasting, and I think it punches above it's price range. Great complexity, wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, it just feels expensive, different layers, nice acidity with some lingering tannins. Drink or hold

Much more restrained and subtle than the youthful, more sprightly Chablis. This wants you to slow down and take your time, and warm a bit out of the fridge. Reticent on the nose, some lime and grapefruit rind on the palette with rounded mouthfeel and medium saline finish.

At 17 years it is over the hill and although drinkable it is not a great pleasure anymore. All fruit is gone and the rest is not good enough to make up for it.
