Pretty bouquet of white flowers, pear, stone fruit, and live herbs. Suave and generous, rounded, and balanced. Clean, tangy finish. 88-89.

Noteworthy perfume, pretty, herbaceous, and terroir driven. Restrained and gripping. A piercing attack of blue and purple berries gives way to a compact and precise middle of striking tension. The back reveals copious steely tannins and the finish lingers a long while. Recommend holding bottles for several years, as improvement seems likely. 91-92.

Clean and well balanced for the appellation. Primarily red fruits and berries, with floral and herb notes. Quite open knit, inviting, and nicely balanced. Technically excellent but nothing stands out, thus generally boring. A few years in the cellar might serve it well. Drink by 2030 or so.

Bold and expansive. Clean, fruity, and juicy up front, backed by impressive tannic structure and the substance to match. Worth holding on to for a few years. 89-90.

Easy to call southern Rhone here. Not over-extracted but brutally tannic. If you own this obscure wine, I suggest you give it time.

Drinking beautifully. You would never tell from the palate that this is a 15ABV wine. With age the raspberry flavours have come to the fore. The most interesting feature is the balance. Lovely aromatics, fresh fruit, raspberry and cherry, no heat from the alcohol and Grenache at its very best — ultra sweet fruit with balanced acidity and tannin. Drink anytime now. Will last.

Garrigue, kirsch, strawberry and black raspberries with a light touch of spice are what you find here on the soft, fresh, medium-bodied, easy to like palate. Elegant in style, forward and already approachable, the wine is made from blending 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and an array of various AOC allowable grapes. Drink from 2022-2031.

Just an exquisite marriage of fruit and zippy acidity. Really polished. Beware though - drink it all within two hours. Wife and I noted that what little was left after two hours just fell flat.

This is an excellent wine from the get-go that manages to combine richness of fruit with zippy acidity to create a classically-styled CDP that maintains great freshness. The finish is soft and layered and showing some maturation with lovely notes of garrigue spices and dark berry essence. Ready now but will hold.

6/24 Dinner w/ Friends: 3-hour double-decant, then consumed over 2+ hours.

Strawberry, cherry, rose petal, and lavender on the nose. The notes are fresh, precise and distinct, not integrated and mixed like potpourri. Over the course of the evening, the wine fluctuated with each note playing a greater or lesser role. Fun to watch it evolve in the glass.

15.5% ABV on the label, but it appears much lighter on the palate with the alcohol balanced, not prominent.

This is a sleeper wine - not widely distributed, very reasonably priced, and incredibly delicious. STANROCKS' mini-Rayas comparison is spot on. The 2019 is drinking best right now, but the 2020 is only a slight notch below and still a great buy if you can find it. Bought 3 cases when we visited the winery in May.

In terms of viticulural style, this wine may as well come from Burgundy - nearly single varietal, small lieu dit, limited intervention, etc. The wine is a pale, translucent garnet in the glass. Soft, subtle, complex, and refined, it's all about the aromatics - layer after layer of red fruit and floral character. It evolves in the glass but needs 3-4 hours of air to open up properly. For context, when tasting at the winery, Yannick opened a bottle from the day prior.

Delicate on the palate (almost weightless) it suprisingly can be paired with seemingly any dish lighter than a rich steak (we have paired it with roasted chicken and lamb on different occasions), though it's delightful without food.

A great alternative to the major houses that seem to be doing to CdP what happened to Champagne in recent decades - consolidating acreage and spending lavishly on marketing. If that analogy holds, then Féraud's opposite number is the "Grower Champagne" revolution.

Hard to say how long this thing could last. If it is truly a mini-Rayas, it could last decades. All I know is it's drinking well now and has at least 5-10 years ahead of it.

At the estate with Yannick Feraud,

From the cellar door, already opened,

Already some evolution notes, with light honey, florals, refined scents of jasmine and other blossoms ... white peach, nice

Palate is still quite fresh and tart, but gained in volume with a bit of aging and aeration.

Long and salty finish, that is one trademark here, that umami, salty finish

Still not much bottles made out of it ... 500 -/+ bottles a year

At the estate, with Yannick Feraud

Made from Pure Clairette, Rose at a 90% rate, with a hint of Grenache Blanc
from the Rayas wood as well...

Very discreet and refined nose of flowers, little white fruits, peach and apricot blossoms, delicate

Palate is fresh and tight for a southern white wine, and good power in the mid palate, made for aging, but try it right away after 3 months of bottles.

Very Tiny production, 500 bottles a year roughly

:)

All the marks given here are to be set up maybe way higher as I hardly give a 95 er or more if the wine is not of exceptional level... I m not looking for buzz or anything as wine critics who need to gain followers and higher attention on myself :)

Still the wines I put here are to be sought after as I tend to believe they might be future stars, other wines will be at some stage recognized as a high example of a style... lighter, easier to drink, with still depth and length, not based always on tannins and body which they don't lack, but on aromas, style, refinement, and fragrance... a long fragrant aftertaste is to more enjoyable than a big harsh wine...

Anyways that 18 shows great density, length, darker style from the estate, more depth and density, a chocolaty and olive driven wine, salty and umami styled... great wine, needs a lot of air, as a little fizzyness might happen on the opening... decanter 2/3 hours

Long and dense wine, stylish... hold 8/10 sure

Vertical tasting at the estate

Light bodied wine, with lots of fruit, and silky tannins, lesser year but as many likewise, showing greatly when midterm aged.

Aromas of light red berries, and showing a bit of the whole cluster style.

Yannick Feraud's wines are an oddity to the one who are looking for outdated, ripe and big "old style" Châteauneuf-du-Pape... Guy's here it is not Barossa Valley... Grenache is a light colored and perfumy, fragrant variety that shows intense flower and strawberry (either fresh or cooked ) smell and taste...

Silky tannins and refined body might not be the use for non usual drinkers of the area, but this being said, the trend now is ripe grapes with infused and lighter bodied wines. Clos du Mont Olivet, Clos des Papes, Rayas, and Yannick are a good example of those style in opposition to super ripe style... and of course NO OAK, no new oak , and no barrels, just as in Piemont and Tuscany the use of Old Foudres is the base of grand fathers ... So keep an eye on those wines as many new comers will be doing it... And Yannick is a great example of those wines, and in a lesser year the style shows as refined as possible with less olive and less chocolaty styled wines

Anyways this is much more than a 85... to me, and 91 is a restrained one :)

Ready to drink wine, with still a good time ahead of it...

Nose of slight evolution, some coffee, and light ox, with chocolaty hints, herbs and a bit of ripe red fruits...

Palate is balanced with a fair amount of tannins still, showing fruit and less evolution than the nose.

Enjoyable

Guys if you like Whole cluster refined Grenache, you absolutely need to get a hold on that.

Loads of black berries, salivating, dense and umami at the end of the palate. ripe but never heavy.

From the Rayas woods, on safres (sands of Chateauneuf), the tiny estate brings some of the most vibrating wines around...

Just 92 + right now but this wine might show way better later in its aging

Decanter for 2/3 hours if drinking soon
