A little farmy, but in a good way. Biting acidity and dried fruit. Paired perfectly with pan fried steelhead.

Heading south since 2022 tasting.
Still some cherry and hints of loam and mushroom but thin on palate and guts.

April 2, 2024 - 2006. Pours a deep garnet, that belies the life left in this one. Expected light ruby. Blast of brett, and I don’t mind it at all. Tertiary notes have taken hold: beyond the brett funk, there’s leather, dried leaves, montmorency cherry, maybe dr. pepper. On the pallet: cherry, lamb, oyster mushrooms. And depth. Fruit mixed with savory qualities, followed by tannin, ending with a mushroom like umami finish. I dig it. There is still power and life remaining, if you don’t mind brett. Totally digging this.

Steak and beef dripping chips with P&J (At home in leafy West London): Did we need another bottle? No. Did we open another bottle? Yes. Were we being fair to this wine? Probably not. Real complexity here, real depth - a strange kind of openness marks it out as new world pinot but, again, no jamminess at all. This is a really good example of what it is, and I'd say objectively a better wine than what we had before but...once again I'm reminded that I don't really like Pinot Noir, I just like Burgundy.

Over three days and side-by-side with the 2011. Day 1, raspberry up front, stemmy core. Day 2: Opened up with intense raspberry and cherry up front, cottony / linen + vegetal, stemmy notes on the core and then a long finish on some tannin and a bright acidity. Day 3: Open even more, just a wave of red fruit up front and then strong vegetal flavors on the core almost like a Cab Franc before finishing back like a pinot with a big pop of acidity. YUM!

Over 3 days, side-by-side with the 2017. Day 1, crushed flowers, fruit seems really diminished next to the 17, really linear towards the finish. Day 2 much more expressive, just a few sips with the majority of the bottle remaining for tomorrow. Day 3 it's awake: violets and strawberries on the nose, cherries in the mouth moving into a thinner, earthy core and then a long, tart, tangy finish.

Shared at a party, no tasting notes in the chaos. Decanted and disappeared quickly, feedback was very positive.

Aromas of cherry with forest and faint sawdust. Nice intense fruit but with a bit of bitterness. Certainly the result of the 2021 Willamette heat dome.

Red fruit and raspberry jolly rancher up front, the mid-palate hits suddenly with earth and savory notes, transition to the finish is just as quick and then goes long on acidity and slightly chewy tannins. Reminds me of Cameron's 21 Clos Electrique we tasted the other night; the same clear distinction between the parts which is delicious now and, if experience with these holds up, about ~2027-2029ish will resolve into something whole and really beautiful.

Nice wine at the price point (I paid £38). Lovely perfume. Still quite fresh.
Very Burgundian.
Very juicy, vibrant acidity well balanced with the fruit, medium bodied, crunchy. Tannins are slightly hard at this stage but I suspect they will smooth out over the next couple of years.
A good experience.

Only my second time trying this producer and first time with this vineyard. The nose is medium intensity with notes of blackberry, cherry, bramble, cedar, forest floor. The acidity is high, the body, alcohol, and intensity are medium, and the finish is a surprising medium(+) length. This is an enjoyable Tuesday nighter, but at $75 you can find a lot better Oregon.

First night came across as a little stewed, and I wondered whether I missed the boat on this one (it was my last bottle). However, second night it really sang, beautiful tertiary palate, great smooth mouthfeel. A great note to end on with this vintage for me. Score from 2nd night.

Slightly darker than most Oregon PNs (Mid Red) Nose was open with red fruit, plums, loganberries and vanilla. The palate was perfectly balanced showing a young wine just entering its drinking window with complex tannins, ample acidity, lovely fruit and a long finish. No austerity just the pleasure you get from a beautifully crafted wine. Should drink for at least 8+ years or longer.

Raspberry up front, moving directly into a dense, stemmy, earthy core before finishing long on body and acidity. Willamette 2018s are almost universally bigger and burlier than either 17s or 19. This fits right in, the usual Gemini redness met with structure and power. Yum!

D1h. From half bottle at Temple Court restaurant, NYC.
Dark coloured, 5.
Generous bouquet of dark fruits and earthiness with some barnyard stuff behind. Really interesting.
Harmonious palate, mT, mA, mB, dry, dark fruits, balanced, balanced, elegant finish with character.
Drink now-2028

Tend to really love these at about 7-10 years, this one is no exception: Cherry up front, dives deep into a brambly, almost Syrah-like savory core, the pulls out and up with plenty of acidity on the long finish. Tannins are nicely integrated and everything is singing together. For a few years these seemed to go odd/even - the odd years (15, 17, 19) being redder and higher noted, the even years (14, 16, 18) being deeper and denser. This has reached a nice midpoint between the two... really delicious.

Maraschino cherry and cough sweets. Has lost its youthful energy and not developed too much so maybe in an awkward in between phase. It’s was good but finished a little short. 3.5

Cherry and plastic on the nose, moves right into the mouth with that cherry jolly rancher sort of thing, quick transition into a deep, dense core (earth and distinct cotton flavor like licking a tshirt) with all that candy silliness left behind; narrows a bit on the finish with good acidity that lingers long. Density from tannin is there but it's very integrated and in the background all the way. YUM.
