Nice jammy blackberry, a little blueberry and fig, some pepper spice and tannin, medium finish, a very enjoyable zin! |

However the structure is austere and lacks charm. Short finish and straightforward. No idea if this will ever be a pleasure to drink but it is not right now. Perhaps try again in 5 years. |

7/28/2023 - La Cave d'Argent Likes this wine: 91 pointsMauritson's 2022 Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc (comprised entirely of the varietal) is sourced from two estate vineyards within the AVA, Hardie (20+ years old) and Elvin (<10 years old). Fermented and aged in a 50/50 combination of stainless steel tanks and neutral oak foudres, it was precluded from undergoing malolactic conversion in order to maximize freshness. Straw-colored and quite aromatic, it offers scents of clementines, green apples, mango, melon, jasmine and dried herbs. Light-bodied, vibrantly acidic and without noticeable alcohol (13.75%), it delivers flavors in line with the aromas, adding only a wisp of wood. Solid in the middle and medium-to-long on the back end, this is an impressive white that offers a nice fruit/herb balance. Enclosed with a Diam 5 cork, it can be popped and poured at any time over the next three years, with or without food. Drink now-2026. |
