Tannins are very fine and give the wine a nice structure without getting in the way. Nice wine! I got this bottle for $30 and I've seen it for under that - it's certainly a wonderful deal for a solid nebbiolo under $30. |

6/21/2023 - NickA Likes this wine: 93 points2012 Barolo/Barbaresco (Terra Rossa): A new producer to me, whose wine showed very well. A deep, intense nose that avoided any trace of heat or thickness, rather seeming bitter and grown-up with notes of aniseed and sandalwood, and then tobacco coming through with time in the glass. Lots of sour, grippy red fruit on the palate, almost to a puckering extent, and some deeper, darker cherry, and then a really lovely silky finish. Excellent levels of acidity made for a balanced wine, and this was an easy winner of the vote for group WOTN. |

The structure isn't too obtrusive right now, but there is a slight grainy quality to the tannins that won't likely fully resolve. This can likely use another 2-4+ years to fully round into form, but it was very accessible after a half hour in a decanter. |

3/1/2022 - ID Likes this wine: NRHad the 12th and last bottle of my case last night. Bought in 2012, drank the first bottle in 2019, and now, three years later, they're all gone. Was an interesting ride. This last bottle was like an aged, lighter-style burgundy. The beautiful translucent color was a not insignificant part of the overall pleasure. In these three years, from age 12 to age 15, it went from a real red-meat wine to something delicate that could work even with calamari. Unfortunate that this was my last. All good things must end. |
