Maybe the only orange wine producer I really enjoy. Juicy peaches, high acid. Orange peel and spices. Orange blossom/flowers as it opens up.

Forgetting the color for a second this reminded us of a soft Malvasia and actually it is surprising that it is 13% alc. floral, soft apriciot feel very soft wine and in a way a bit fruit juicy. Frankly not our style so we will never look at this with an endearing eye but at least this was a type of wine unlike many of its kin that are just bad fruit juices. A curiosity for us and we will

il tappo si è sgretolato all'apertura. nonostante questo, vino in formissima, colore molto spinto (macerazione e pinot grigio aiutano), naso di agrumi e fiori, albicocche, nespole, fieno e miele. in bocca è ben equilibrato, mi aspettavo una spinta verticale maggiore. buona lunghezza, bottiglia molto interessante.

orange/red sunset of a wine, a little funk, licking a kumquat. Some light tannins and saltiness. Yummy. Orange rind and bitter fruit. Natty done right. The funk is in balance. First wine of the night shared between 4 people. Did not last long, wish I had more time with it. Would have liked to see the evolution. Will seek out another bottle.

An orange Malvazija Istarska - although I've understood this vintage has seen much less skin contact compared to the more recent vintages. 13% alcohol. Tasted blind.

Evolved and quite hazy straw-yellow color. Evolved, quite tertiary and slightly oxidative nose with aromas of hay and nuttiness, some sweet honeyed tones, a little bit of resinous phenolic character, light foresty notes of birch sap and spruce needles, a hint of bruised apple, a touch of almond paste and a woolly whiff of lanolin. The wine feels dry, evolved and rather tertiary on the palate with a medium body and complex, slightly oxidative flavors of chopped nuts and sorrel, some bruised apple tones, a little bit of almond paste, light green notes of spruce needles and minty lift, a phenolic hint of resinous character and a touch of tangy salinity. The mouthfeel is slightly oily and textural and the wine itself is quite high in acidity with no tannins to speak of. The finish is long, dry and slightly oxidative with flavors of sorrel, chopped nuts and bruised apple, some stony mineral notes, a little bit of resinous phenolic character, light nuances of spruce shoots, an evolved hint of browned butter and a touch of cheesy funk.

A still quite nice orange wine, but one that is slowly getting past its peak. Compared to the bottle I tasted two years ago, this feels somewhat more tertiary, showing more oxidative nuances and less of that vibrant fruit. The overall feel is more or less the same, but feeling slightly more tired. All in all, it's quite safe to say the wine has run its course and is now on its slow descent to the inevitable - any remaining bottles should be drunk sooner or later. Nevertheless, this has still been a great bargain at 18€.

Drinking with friends IX - Whites (Misano): Arancio sbiadito.
Naso caratteristico, di natura ossidata, con sentori di mela cotta, nespole e cera d'api. Nota balsamica di eucalipto.
Al palato mostra freschezza e sapidità, con una sensazione astringente, quasi tannica. Chiude con scia balsamica.

Medium pink orange color.

Full throttle right out of the bottle. Deep and complex nose with kind of the same fruit character as a Campari - strawberry, spicy orange peel and faint red cherry. There's also a nice floral lift of rose petals, some spicy resin and medicinal herbs.

Medium bodied with medium(+) acidity. Vibrant and very precise on the palate. The skins contact provides a bit of tannic grip but they are very smooth and refined. Very clean and focused flavors that has the same layer upon layer feel as the nose. Long, intense finish.

It feels like this wine is in a very good phase now but in the beginning of it's preferred window. Open, inviting and complex but not much of tertiary aromas to speak of.

Aromatically intense, flat grapefruit, white tea, fermented peaches, and a little B vitamin all combine into a very compelling and rich nose.

On the palate, it is tart and dry, tea and peaches with a hint of ginger in the background. A long and creamy finish that ends dry and slightly nutty.

Medium, purple color.

Upon opening the nose is quite one-dimensional with tons of blueberry-fruit and grassy herbs. It grows and grows with air showing more and more layers. The second night I pick up dark cherry, moist soil, balsamic spice, violets and a touch of raw meat.

Medium(+) body and hardly any tannins at all but the super high, goji berry-like, acidity provides more than enough structure. Great intensity to the flavors that is dominated by a cool, vibrant, red and blue toned fruit. Good weight on the palate despite its moderate alcohol (11% abv). Long finish with the acidity really biting your cheeks.

This wine is still very youthful and will probably age forever thanks to the acidity. My experience with Terrano limited to this very bottle. As far as I know Škerk is one of the best producers of Terrano and this was a lovely bottle of wine. Give it a lot of air or preferably further aging.

Drank over three days. A slight cloudy, medium amber in the glass. A complex and challenging nose to discern that eventually revealed blood orange, kumquat, raspberry sherbet, a lifted, floral note of orange blossom, a wet river rock minerality, and a passing resemblance to Lucozade Original. So inviting. Supremely bitter - the bitterness really is exceptional - and slightly waxy on the palate with grapefruit pith, melon skin, and bitter orange marmalade. With each passing day the bitterness mellowed, harmony increased, and concentration intensified. The maceration - which takes place in oak - provides a wonderful roundness to the wine. A delicious, highly impressive expression.

Deep, a bit hazy yellow color.

This is so layered and detailed that it gives you new impressions almost every time you get back to the glass. Stonefruits, honey, spice box, spicy citrus zest, chalk dust, flowers and a little volatile lift.

Medium bodied with high acidity. Impressive intensity and weight considering it's moderate alcohol. Just as layered as the nose was and the finish lingers on the palate foe a good while.

My first encounter with Vitovska so I do not know if this wine is representative of the variety or not. However this wine is nothing short but superb and I would love to have it again.

no notes taken, a wine I like and the 2018 feels more structure than 2016.
Drinks well now but I would probably give the wine more time to breath or keep my hands away for a few more years.

Interesting wine. Clearly sees some skin contact and some oak, but nothing is out of balance. Light fruit and floral aromatics that continue on the palate. Fruit hard to describe maybe pear or stone fruit. Good citrus notes, softened by the oak, honey, energetic sharp acidity on the finish.

Day one, Zalto Burgundy glass- don’t think it is making it to day two.
Pronounced aromas of GRAPEFRUIT, sea shells, lemon zest, and perhaps a touch of basil?
That lovely light texture riddled with fine tannins, acid galore and a dry persistent finish.
Grapefruit rind spray, supremes with a touch mint, basil and mineral on the palate. Just so fresh, clean and fun.
Love this wine for its refreshing change of pace. Citrus, salinity, mineral and that surprising velveteen textural component.
Drink now and hold.

Color: medium copper
Nose: two souls: flowers and stone fruit. On the flower side, acacia and yellow rose. On the stone fruit side, canned peach with an intensity i have never smelled. Then minerals. Plastic film.
Palate: body is medium-light. Tannins exist, hinted. Bitter and salty. Acidity is medium. Canned peach and plastic, with hibiscus
Finish: long

Just always knocking it out of the park with skerk. A genius that deserves more recognition. Ok from bottle p&p, warmer side to get the nuances please

Pinot Gris, Vitovska, Malvasia and Sauvignon in equal parts. Fermented on the skins and aged for two years in botti.

Wild, spicy and aromatic nose upon a solid base of ripe peach, wild strawberry, dried apricot, lychee and orange. Some floral notes of rose petals and rose hips comes through as well.

Full bodied with vibrant acidity and very smooth texture. Again a wide spectra of different fruits and spicy citrus peel. Great intensity to the flavors and not a trace of bitter notes. Long and spicy finish.

This was a great bottle in great shape. Drinking very well right now and I will pop my last bottle within a year.
