4/4/2011 - PatrikO wrote: 93 points2001 horizontal @ home. Anglus came out on top being the most well balanced and elegant of the line up, beating Montrose, Eglise Clinet, Ornellaia, Montelena and Tore Muga all from the same year. The common feature is how highly extracted and fruit forward all these wines were. Ornellaia was a crowd pleaser and came second followed by Montrose. All wines were tasted blind and funnily enough nobody got more than 3 right, even the tempranilllo based Torre Muga was hard to spot. |

Yet another perfect bottle, although it was consumed at midnight after numerous previous bottles, it came through nicely with that trademark floral nose. Fruit is holding up well, still some tannins, but they are silky smooth. These bottles have been perfectly stored in a damp Scottish cellar and i think they still have 10 plus years of life ahead. |
