Opened for 1.5 hrs.
Nose: Medium nose intensity with notes of cedar, toasted wood, coffee, dark fruit.
P: Tannins are still smoothen but still felt, med acidity, decent fruits. Felt phenolic heat when it warmed up, had to chill slightly to enhance enjoyment of fruits.

Enjoyed nose more than palate.

Really opened up after about 45mins.
Lots of good legs in the wine still. Tannins are integrated well, medium heavy bodied, medium finish.
Vanilla, cocoa coffee notes on plate, lots of juicy fruit, like how this is holding up, still has some time to go on.

Decanted for 1.5 hrs, Smooth integrated tannins, still has acidity for food. Drinking now. Pencil shaving, lead, lacks layers, i was expecting. Short-med finish.

As mention below, fruits have muted and tannins have smoothed out almost completely, which feels like it cannot age any longer. Drink now.
It probably does not cut fatty food as well as tannins and acidity are no longer present.

Lovely douro red. Black fruit, really very smooth tannins, fruits integrated with oak. Balanced acidity, enough to cut fat meat marbling in our steak. Lovely wine to be drinking now, probably can go a year or 2 more.

It would be good for food or on a warm day on its own cold! One of the better gamay's I have had. it is what it is, a very good quaffer that is instantly enjoyable without having to wait on it.

The bottle is really unique, taller than most bottles. The initial nose gave me medicated black cherries notes. That medicinal nose blew off with time and it gave way to a fruity black berry and mulberry nose, lovely aroma.
On the initiate palate, the wine gave a bitter dark cocoa taste, with a notes of bitter raw coffee bean characteristics, unusual wine for me. Again with time, the wine started to show smooth velvety tannins, hints of vanilla, fruity yet not sweet plummy taste. Medium bodied, well balanced wine. 87pts in the start - 89pts later. Drinking well now, do not seem to have tannins or structure for aging. Would recommend this wine for those who wants to try something new that is immediate gratification without hurting the wallet.

Popped and poured straight from the wine chiller, it was very smooth, with hints of vanilla. Tannins were soft and wine though simple was balanced. As the temperature went up, so did the alcoholic heat and taste of this wine, best served below 26c. Medium-light bodied wine that when well with my pasta of tomato based beef sauce. Great QPR wine.

Funky barnyard nose, a little mushroom. Rich and elegant with good substance, pepper spice and nutmeg and capsicum and a sweetness to it that reminded me of sweet candied cherries. Good length with the right amount of acid. Disappointing for a Suchots for a vintage like 2002, expected more.

Very Decent wine. Fresh fruity cherries with a hint of fresh leaves and earth on the nose. Medium- light bodied wine with soft tannins. More earth than fruit was found on the palate in contrast to the nose. A completely easy drinking wine for light meats. Finish was short but very enjoyable. This was a well-balanced wine, nothing felt out of place. Very good quaffing wine, had mine with a sirloin beef burger infused with cheese!
