2002 Frédéric Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes Vieilles VignesPinot Noir more |
1/3/2023 - hlaburg Likes this wine: 95 pointsBought on release and decided to open one bottle for the new year. This is Chambolle at its finest mirroring Amoureuses. Layers of sweet complex sneaky fruit that engulfs your palate of Burgundy heaven. This is the real deal and is starting to show so well. Will definitely hold for 5+ years. |

5/4/2020 - hlaburg Likes this wine: 90 pointsDark Chambolle fruits of strong character and stuffing that just woke up and then shut down with about half hour of air. This is a serious Chambolle village compared to other producers village wines in 2002. Reminded me of a Gouges NSG kind of power. Will show secondary development character in at least 10 + years and will hold for many more. So much for people saying 2002 is open for business as I’m not opening any more at this point. This bottle was bought on release and needs cellar time as this is a wine for the long haul. Bottle # 00739. |

2001 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les FuéesPinot Noir more |
9/5/2019 - hlaburg Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis is Freddy Mugnier of seduction in a glass stamp to no limits.. Drinking almost like an Amoureuses at about 80% minus the texture Amoureuses has. This is just a perfect glass of pinot that is giving showing and just beginning to drink well. This will hold for at least 10 + years. Open an hour before now to let it breath a bit. Wish I had more bottles as I paid about $75 for this back in day. Layers of balanced fruit that are so well integrated and bright. The nose is just so giving and like a piece of art that I could smell all day long. |

Drinks amazing with air but I would hold as this is just beginning to enter its drinking life. Will cellar for another 15+ years easily and show its beauty even more. |

It showed dark pinot fruit with underlying minerals of earth, softened out tannins and a nice medium finish. Going to hold remaining bottles for another 5 years as this wine has tremendous potential. |
