3/1/2024 - chatters wrote: NRIvy Sommelier tasting (Mumu, George Street): From magnum. Initially it's pretty red fruit with a smidge too much oak but falls apart in the glass. Bella suggest tinned baked beans but I don't see it. I will acknowledge, though, mismanaged whole bunch and tomato leaf. |

4/25/2024 - Scott4227 Likes this wine: 92 pointsBright mid red, slight tinge of age at the edge, nose of forest floor, a little zesty red fruit notes, rose petals. On the palate light to medium weight, balanced acidity and red fruits, cherry, pomegranate, ... still some light powdery tannins, a little hot initially, good acidity mellows with each glass... as you might expect with the age... possibly past its best but a lovely mature pinot. |

4/23/2024 - KiVi wrote: NRIt was nice enough. Gave it a good decant and had the final 1/3 the next day. Always felt like I wanted more. On the nose, it was pretty but reserved. The tannin was fine and acidity noticeably bright. Drank similar from open to end (little evolution). |

4/22/2024 - EdLark Likes this wine: 92 pointsDeep red colour with an almost plummy bouquet. On the palate it’s lighter weight than I expected with the flavours more subdued but refined - red berries even a hint of strawberry with subtle oak. Very fine tannins for a relatively young wine. |

2017 Mayer NebbioloYarra Valley more |
4/20/2024 - crazywineguy Likes this wine: 89 pointsUsual light colour that makes you think it is more aged than it is. 12.5%. Cranberry, woodsmoke, hint of sulphur and sandalwood. Almost a pinot like tilt to it. Lovely mouthfeel. Light bodied and perhaps a tad dilutish in feel due to the low alcohol. Classic Neb finish. I think this might be at or just pass the peak so drink up. The tannins are superfine and furry and in contrast to the light body ie you expect a deeper wine for the tannins or lighter tannins for the depth of the body. |

3/15/2024 - chatters wrote: NRFriday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Sweet and ripe smelling black and red fruits, sweet oak spice, touch of raspberry compote as well is slightly fruit lozenge and there is a little fresh basil leaf. Juicy, textured grip is slightly drying, fruit as per the nose. Quite pleasant. |

3/15/2024 - chatters wrote: NRFriday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Polished oak offers caramel, baking spice over plummy fruit, a little concentrated note to the fruit. Juicy, oak more integrated on the palate, dark hued fruits, the oak lends a textured burr on the mid palate. Long, nice, has promise. |

3/15/2024 - chatters wrote: NRFriday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): blackberries here are a little jubey, touch of herbaceousness and peppery spice. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, plenty of texture, a little sourness to the back fruits on the palate, almost a tiny bit metallic. Damn |

Juicy, fleshy, dense powdery tannins join the black fruits and peppery notes, savoury. Yum. |
