Strawberry, cherry and blackberry forward in the mouth, pushing some lovely texture and earthy energy into the fold. Splendidly balanced with a nice medium body, velvet tannins and integrated acids. A nice peppercorn accented spice and yogurt smack on the long finish holds the ripe and bright notes on the hind flanks of the palate in lovely fashion. Bucolic yet keen to unfurl new highlights through the evening, this is some fantastic stuff. |

Uncorked last night over dinner with friends who unanimously agreed that this was outstanding. Juicy wine and more fruit forward than I recollect. Red cherries, raspberries and some black fruit. There is a touch of wood which adds to the complexity while letting the fruit do the talking. Wow! |

Super fresh - just on the more tired end of Ruby perhaps but certainly not garnet. Ripe red fruits on the nose; nothing stewed. Also some vanilla and sweet spices as well as some tertiary, but very much weighted 70/10/20 primary/secondary/tertiary which speaks to the ageability of this. Similar on palate; some medium tannic grip, and anything but sweet/cloying. In the raspberry/cranberry spectrum, albeit the riper end of both. I really like this, and I wish I’d bought more. Will go for another 15 yrs! Nice that it’s 14.5% and no higher. |
