5/11/2024 - Enzo Gorlomi Likes this wine: NRBeautiful nose but wasn’t exactly elegant and didn’t have the PN perfume. Evolved with time and was tasting very good towards the end. |

5/9/2024 - Paul D wrote: 94 points2012 Burgundy at Noizé (Noizé, London): Now here we are definitely in NSG, lovely aromatic, meaty nose, with soil and mineral notes. Dark underlying fruit. Medium/full bodied, dark and meaty with fine but still firm tannins, ooodles of character but also energy and class, game and smoke notes, very good length grippy finish. Compelling, excellent touching outstanding. For the long haul but can be enjoyed now. |

5/9/2024 - Vinumming & Ahhing Likes this wine: 91 pointsNick A's 2012 Burgundy Horizontal (Table A) (Noizé, London): Impressively broad shouldered with with red fruits and a little spiciness. Hint of Tizer. A lot to like with this and am sure in time will be seriously impressive but on the night I enjoyed this less than some of my fellow diners. |

5/3/2024 - peternelson Likes this wine: 91 pointsDarker, chocolate-raspberry notes, richer a bit more austere structurally, slightly rustic with good tannins, dark berry, slight bitter earthy finish. Liked this a little less than the Michel Gros. Needs 5 years, whereas the Gros is good right out of the box. 20% new oak; 100% destemmed, 50 y.o. vines. $90 K&L 2021 Burg tasting. |

4/23/2024 - platpeeps Likes this wine: 91 pointsCooked sweet red cherry fruit, that’s spicy, soft and sensuous. Savoury at first but then the sweetness of the fruit kicked in, to leave an impressive lingering finish. Lovely balance and has held up well. CHP 91pts 1 person found this helpful, do you? 4/27/2024 - llink wrote: 91 pointsPNP. Deep black cherry, soil and licorice on the nose. Young and tightly wound palate, sappy with lots of fine grained tannins but delivered in a sorbet like fruit infused package. Blind I would have guessed 2015 for the vintage. |

4/26/2024 - bordeauxman777 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis wine is a monster in the most flattering sense! At the age of 10, it exudes tremendous poise and boasts a rock-solid structure. Its fading color should not deceive you; this intrinsic Nuits Saint Georges has a brave future ahead. I once stood in the cellars of Domaine Chevillon, savoring samples of an another vintage, and this wine transports me back to those caves with the swoosh of a magic wand. In unforeseen time, it might stand among the best modern Burgundies ever crafted. I sincerely hope to live long enough to express, with decades of enthusiasm held back, 'Oh, how lovely! |

4/22/2024 - chablis28 wrote: 86 pointsBit of a disappointment. I'm usually a raving fan of this cuvee but this btl seems to be on the downslide. Never over fruited but this one was missing some fruit period. Just not usual sense of harmony and balance I've come to expect from Chevillon. Earlier btls were much better. 2 left, I'll try another later this year again. |

4/22/2024 - Miceri Likes this wine: 91 pointsQuite dark red; deep red fruit, hint of licorice; good density and balance, some sweetness in the middle, long aftertaste; nicely likeable and approachable, perhaps a bit dryness in the end, but otherwise nice - probably way too young |

4/20/2024 - Seth Rosenberg Likes this wine: 96 pointsJersey Boys (Grand Sichuan, Jersey City, NJ): Beautiful nose that is classic Chevillon. Cherry, slutty, a bit gutty, sweet spices, sweet, marzipan. Palate shows cherry and spices but also meaty and earthy. Lots of structure. Finish is really structured with dusty tannins. Wine is really growing with time and the palate and finish are just killer. Tons of sweet cherries and spice. Gutty. Dusty tannins but such grip and depth. This just kept getting better and better. Wow. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5.5-6/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5-18.5/20. |

4/20/2024 - salil wrote: 96 pointsGrand Sichuan, Jersey City edition (Grand Sichuan, Grove St.): Just a stunning bottle of Burgundy - a hauntingly complex and beautiful fragrance, a palate that's so graceful and polished with fine grained tannin beneath, and somehow it keeps getting better and better with air. There's no sense trying to describe the various flavour components, because this is so much more than the sum of all the various flavours - I'll just say it seems to show equal parts fruit, earth, and more savoury developed tertiary notes, with everything coming together into a seamless whole. |

4/21/2024 - Blair Curtis wrote: 92 pointsThis was delicious. In a very good place right now. Gorgeous nose. Notes of maturity, but buttressed by snappy fresh acids (typical of 2008). Nice fruit. Enjoyed this in a small 2008 Chevillon horizontal, which featured 3 of his big boys - the LSG, Vaucrains, and Cailles. Those wines were a step up, but the Bouss was no slouch either! And all 4 wines showed a family character that was very appealing. No hurry on these - 5 more years won't change a thing (at least not in any negative direction). But also no shame at all to drink now. |

4/19/2024 - DougLee wrote: 92 pointsTranslucent medium-ruby. Deep nose of potent smoky plum, healthy damp cellar, late-arriving but nostril-filling violets, astringent brambles, earth. Layers of brilliant crunchy cherry and raspberry fruit girded by iron and earthy briar on the ebullient palate. Firm tannin counterpointed by fresh, almost brash acidity. Long finish of echoing red berry, iron granules, fine earth. Young, energetic wine brimming with life. Long evolution ahead. |

4/18/2024 - Richard P Howden wrote: 91 pointsRating wines is all about expectations. What do I expect - or want - from a 22 year old village Burg? Truth and beauty, or at least a little of these things. And tonight that’s what I got. An honest Burg, true to form. Really a very pretty nose - strawberries, cherries, some earthy violets. The palate was nicely red fruited, softened beautifully with age. Not silky, but gentle. Plenty of depth, but not powerful. Some nice secondary development in the earthy, mineral vein with everything nicely in place. Good balance, medium body and length. Nothing too much - not overly complex, but not wimpy. It’s satisfying when a village NSG punches above its weight, but there’s a real pleasure in a nicely aged wine showing its virtues but not excessively. Bravo. Compared to the 2010 this is a bit less hedonistic, but with the summer shine of the vintage it still has plenty of life left. |

3/3/2024 - ylkim30 Likes this wine: NRMarch 2024 Gouges/Chevillon Dinner (YH Beijing - SF): Beautiful bright red fruit, gentle tannins, and a delicate and lovely palate presence. The most ready of the red wines tonight and an instructive contrast with the burlier Gouges. Not as complex or as spicy as the Gouges, but just a pure pleasure to drink. |

Round melting tannins and superb acidity. Almost completely mature with both the power of the site and finessed complexity. Superb bottle. Nuits St. Georges doesn't get any better than this. |
