Such a cool wine from Tournelle.

Slightly clowdy.
Complex Tournelle’esque nose (I don’t know what else to call it, it’s similar across their entire range of topped up whites - is this the terroir of the cellar maybe?) Lemon and orange peel, sea spray, wax and a hint of lilac and white peach.
Bright acidity, moderate body, refreshing really. Maybe a touch of a mousy character in the last glass three days after the initial opening, but not enough to be a bother. Saline finish with a touch of bitter grapefruit.

No sulphur added. Yellow. Quince. Cut wood. Noticeable phenolic sensation which gives the wine great length. Fresh with ripe acidity. This is extremely good if you appreciate this style. Easy drinking for natural winemaking. Great! 96 credits for my personal liking.

Smelled a bit bouché on opening but came around. Very young. Excellent with aged Comté, but could use more time.

Pretty simple Trousseau. The nose gives strawberry, white pepper, and the tiniest amount of brett. It’s as the other review here suggesting carbonic maceration along the lines of a Beaujolais Gamay. The palate offers rhubarb, red berries and a tiny hint of anis. The class pours with a very gentle amount of residual gas which blows away an hour in. It’s a very joyful bottle from a producer who I really like. Not much potential for aging however. It’s a sophisticated vin de soif.

Excellent ouillé, hip yet free of hipster faults.
Nose of lime zest and orange zest, starfruit, cream, some sea spray and slight crushed rock.
Fresh lively acidity and good body. At 13% abv it’s lower in alcohol than many other ouillés, thus lighter and much more quaffable.

Pnp and tasted through three days. Superb ginger hue, foggy and dense. Nose of a pure cider, yeasty. Palate super straight and reducted of radish, green liccorice stick, high acidity, ending very mineral. Intense, natural style that hides the grape type and the terroir.

The nose is pretty, especially in the first hour after opening, with cinnamon, dried rose, and cranberry - aromas that are common reds from this place. The palate is balanced and powerful, and with real persistence. But it is also not complicated, and after 90 minutes open felt rather blocky to me. But it was the nose that devolved in the most pronounced way, becoming all about the cinnamon stick thing that I get in many non-descript, although well made, natural wines. 90 minutes in and served blind this could have been partially carbonic gamay from the Loire, carbonic Beaujolais Villages, or several other wines made in the modern hipster natural wine style. It's not bad wine (although it tailed off in a big way after 90 mins open), but it's not a good example of Jura trousseau, and because it's more about wine-making than it is about place, it's hard to get excited. That said, I'm sure that 99% of today's modern-American restaurants would love to offer this on the list. The kids like it. I'm out of touch.

Very pale/translucent ruby, tending toward brownish. It does feel rather natural, and certainly a bit off, on opening. Earthy, with some musky astringency. On the second night, and especially the third, it really starting to unfurl, and became much more friendly. This was surprisingly enjoyable, even according to my wife, who has become suspicious of many Jura reds.

Deep gold colour. Pronounced and developing nose with bruiced apples, baked lemon, smoke, butter, wet leaves, honey, roasted walnuts, charred wood and wet stone. Pronounced taste of bruiced apples, baked lemon, butter. Smoke, wet leaves, honey, roasted walnuts, charred wood, mushrooms and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Arbois in a rustic and bold style. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with cheeses, cured meat, mushrooms, pork and poultry.

7/21/2023 - The Wine Dispatch [b2w.wine] Likes this wine: NR

It is certain that when it comes to wine, the Jura is quite unique. But even if Vin Jaune, the yellow wine aged under a yeast 'veil' of Chateau-Chalon has become an acquired taste of sommeliers everywhere, its style draws some inspiration from Sherry, one of world's oldest recorded styles. Vin de Paille, straw wine , where grapes are dried on straw mats, also finds counterparts all over Italy and Spain. And than we come to Macvin, a style that is certainly 'unique' but not certainly 'wine'.
.
Simply put, Macvin du Jura is grape must fortified by a neutral spirit. There is no fermentation involved. So,in my oppinion it is more of a "grape drank" than wine. Suffice to say, curiosity piqued.
.
First thing noted is only 12.5% alcohol, putting it with standard table wines and way below other fortified grape beverages. Notes of golden raisins, rye spice, wheat, caramel, peach cobler, dates, cloves, cooked apples. While maybe not exactly wine ,still eons from putting vodka in your Welch's. I honestly found this wine delicious, fresh over the course of four days, and a pleasant pairing for foods and as an apero. Yes, there is sugar in it. It's juice. But the drank was still well in-balance between sweetness, decent acid ( closer to medium than medium plus but still) and rich fruit flavors. If you enjoy (or can tolerate) some sweetness, definately give this flavorful beverage a try.

PNP into Riedel Performance Pinot Noir glass (“Flower” day): Pale ruby to the eyes.

Organic red cherries and some plummy notes. Florals and savoury notes too. Hints of reduction that blew off in glass.

Good balance of acidity and minerality, alongside focus of both primary and secondary flavors on the palate.

Pretty nice style overall indeed. 93-94 points.

PNP into Kimura Cava glass (“Flower” to “Leaf” day): Pale golden to the eyes with slight cloudiness.

Ethereal style of the Jura with flora aromas as main underpinned by elegant citrus fruits with peels.

High acidity, great flavor intensity, VA is evident only on the finish intially at low temperature but well integrated once one work through the bottle and with slightly higher temperature which really opened up the wine.

Great style to have in my view. 94 points easy.

One of my favorite producers in Jura. The note from the last bottle I had said «the best trosseau I’ve had». That one was a pinch above this.

Medium garnet, cloudy.
Aromas of ripe strawberries, red cherries, wet stone, something bright like recurrants and nettle.
Dry, med+ acidity, med body, medium fine-grained tannins. Earthy with red berries.
A good wine, drink noe, won’t benefit substantially from further ageing.

The colour is really amber-orange and quite hazy, probably an effect of non-filtration. Very exciting nose with notes of quince, varnish, yeast, toast. Marked by old wood in the mouth, mouth-filling, great texture, good balance and very attractive. Great stuff, if a shade expensive in this country (Denmark), as the socalled natural wines often are.

Couleur orange trouble
