12/1/2023 - moguls Likes this wine: 91 pointsLovely classic Pauillac. Not going to comment on taste/nose as others have that nicely covered. Bought on release, cellared well. Still in a very nice place, however no real need to wait, don't really see much room for improvement. |

11/20/2022 - moguls wrote: 92 pointsLovely nose and palate. Still in prime drinking window. To answer the Juicy Rebound question posted earlier by Luckylars I have uploaded a picture to explain why I used that descriptor when I created the wine. As a fun aside, Douglas (the winemaker) is into hockey, hence the "juicy rebound" goalie reference. |

4/23/2021 - moguls Likes this wine: 90 pointsBought on release. Garnet colour, very soft, gentle wine. Nice nose with some leather and black fruit. Lots of complexity on the nose. |

3/17/2017 - moguls wrote: 92 pointsBrought to River Cafe in Calgary, staff decanted an hour before we started drinking. Typical restrained LLC, like waiting for the best thing ever, but not quite ready yet, but really good. Low neck fill, very primary still. But that being said, starting to see some beautiful complex bouquet (or nosey stuff, haha). You know, pencil and cedar stuff. |

10/14/2016 - moguls Likes this wine: 94 pointsWonderful, still fairly tannic but a lot of wonderful Bdx things happening on the nose. Bought on release, cork pristine - red at bottom 1/8 inch. |

2002 Nicolas Potel Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St. JacquesPinot Noir more |
12/18/2012 - moguls wrote: 86 pointsNice expressive nose is very subtle. 'Forest floor' dominates the fruit on the nose, a little funky. Light amber in colour. Fruit is nice on initial palate, but wine is somewhat simple. Not a lot of depth and complexity here. Hard to see this evolving from here. |

1998 Domaine Chante-Perdrix Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
11/26/2012 - moguls Likes this wine: 90 pointsMature, light red approaching amber. Fully mature, slight brett notes which I enjoy (not for those who are sensitive). Nice secondary aromas of game and herbs. Wonderful bottle, last one from my twins birth year (too bad for them!). Wouldn't hold for many more years, but no need to drink right away, not sensing improvements as evolution continues - maybe five to seven years left? |

2002 Domaine Alain Burguet Gevrey-Chambertin La JusticePinot Noir more |
11/23/2012 - moguls wrote: 91 pointsVery nice, well balanced with a lovely fruit core. Lots of fruit still, nicely integrated with a good backbone of tannin and acidity. Good "burg" nose, nice complexity. A very enjoyable wine. Not thinking this needs more cellar time, but I don't think the wine is falling off a cliff any time soon. |

9/27/2012 - moguls wrote: 93 pointsFarewell old friend, this was one of the first wines I purchased in quantity when I first got into wine in the early nineties. Bought three cases I could barely afford at the time, yet over the last 20 years this wine has given great pleasure and perspective. Wine shows great depth and complexity. Not as evolved as the previous few bottles, medium garnet core, amber rim. Slight brett showing. Very enjoyable, long finish. |
