It may never have been a great wine but at this point all its minor failings and major strengths have aligned to make this wine a complex, typical, exciting and classy Bdx. Though obviously ripe and concentrated it manages to be fresh and dynamic. The elevated levels of alcohol and tannins associated with Sagrantino are well reined in. A few more years of cellaring may improve it even further. |
