Winemaker's Note for the 2004 Russian River Valley "Two Acres" Red Wine

From the winemaker: 2004 Russian River Valley “Two Acres” Red Wine After the somewhat atypical and masculine ‘03, the ‘04 Two Acres is as sexy and feminine as ever! Make no mistake though. This is by no means a “light” wine. Think sensuous curves, perfume, seductiveness. A blend of 87% mourvèdre, 9% petite sirah, 3% valdepeñas, and 1% alicante bouschet from vines planted in 1910. Bottled unfined and unfiltered after 16 months in French oak, 25% new. Medium to medium-dark ruby. Hi-toned aromas of cherry, mace, cinnamon, orange peel, carpaccio, and tree bark. Very complex! On the palate, totally mouth coating with flavors of pepper, game, iron, and blood. The creamy texture of this wine is such a turn-on! This very well could be one of the most unique wines produced in California. Drink from release through 2012.
