2016 Brassfield Estate Winery Eruption Volcano Ridge

“40% P.S., 21% Syrah, 12% Malbec, 11% Mourvedre, 11% Grenache, & 5% Zin from a Vyd of steep slopes and bright red soils originally planted in 2003 & 2004 on the side of a volcanic cinder cone which ranges from 1,900 - 2,200 ft. elev with soils of volcanic sands & tephra (small, fused sand pebbles) of the Konocti Series; The components are cared for separately in small lots fermented using native yeast. The wines are then aged in FR & AM oak barrels (30% new) for 8-10 mos before being blended & bottled without filtration on 8/27/18. 14.8% ABV, 6.1 g/L T.A., & 3.75 pH.”
