Clones 1654 on own roots
site and Aspect gentle east facing slope along a north south Ridge. The vines are planted very close together just 600 mm apart in 1.2 meter rows resulting in 5500 vines per acre
soil red/grey clay and ironstone
typical yield 2.2 tons per acre
the grower after travelling the world making mine Adam fell in love with the Grampians Shiraz and planted his own vineyard in the great Western specifically to make his own style of Shiraz and to bring up his kids in the country
Given the climate and growing conditions in the Grampians it is not easy growing grapes but by the same time and Wine is bottled , the sense of satisfaction is immense
