2006 Tina Marie Vineyard Pinot Noir
(Graton, Green Valley, Sonoma County)
This site lies in the heart of the Green Valley appellation, on the corner of Green Valley and Maddocks Roads. Owner and manager Ron Black had the foresight to plant his hillside very densely to create more vine competition and lower yields. This approach delivers an intoxicating combination of lushness and poise to the wines from this site. The vineyard yielded two and one-half tons per acre.

The Tina Marie displays the perfumed, strongly fruited aromas and rich flavors typical of Green Valley wines. The natural acid lends focus, breadth, and length in the mouth. Scents of raspberry and black cherry dominate, with subtle notes of fresh mushroom and green tea. The density in the mouth and the nose's vibrancy play off each other beautifully. The finishing flavors are long and lifted by the bright acid.
