November 26, 2022 - Perfect cork and level.
The moment you pull out the cork you know you are in for a truly special Wine.
There is no need to decant here. The nose is absolutely knock out: cherry liqueur, cherry blossom, Piedmont truffle, pipe tobacco, melting asphalt, road dust after the rain - you name it!
Outstanding, incredible, unbelievable concentration of perfectly ripe black cherries, truffles, mineral, dark chocolate and I don’t know what else on the palate. Super concentrated yet almost weightless on the palate. The finish lasts forever, definitely more than a minute.
Rich and almost sweet the wine remains bone dry- the thing you can only encounter in the best of the best French wines.
Hands down the greatest mono varietal Merlot I have tasted in my life.
If this particular bottle is representative of this wine , Tertre Roteboeuf is definitely cream of the crop in the World of Wines.

Technically, it's not mono varietal, as there is usually about 20% of cabernet franc in the blend. Cheers!
