Scrolling down at the notes on this wine, I'd say Mark1 more or less nailed this.

After a 30 minute splash decant, the initial sips are indeed a bit fruity and sweet. Grape, raspberry, and blueberry flavors lead the way to a 30 second+ finish. But I found the concentration and density noticeably less so than the other Carter offerings.

Of all the Carter the wines I've been fortunate enough to enjoy to date, I'd put the OG, Carter, and La Verdad at the very top. And this closer to the bottom.

For this price range, the wiser investment would be on those other offerings.

    Cheers!

6/27/23, 9:13 AM - P&B.....thanks for the kind words! Been a couple of years now since my review which I just looked back on.....and I'm surprised this one isn't doing better, now. I see one recent reviewer had to give it 8 hours to shine and his high score reflected that. I'm finding this also to be true right now with many '16s and some '18s. I have one left I want to pour for friends next month. I think I'll try the longer decant with it then. This is THE problem we wine drinkers have. What works with one bottle/one year with a wine, will not always work with the next. What a PITA! Cheers!
