May 13, 2023 - The 1st and only bottle of a mixed case purchased from Carter in fall '20.

Scrolling down at the notes on this wine, I'd say Mark1 more or less nailed this.

After a 30 minute splash decant, the initial sips are indeed a bit fruity and sweet. Grape, raspberry, and blueberry flavors lead the way to a 30 second+ finish. But I found the concentration and density noticeably less so than the other Carter offerings.

Of all the Carter the wines I've been fortunate enough to enjoy to date, I'd put the OG, Carter, and La Verdad at the very top. And this closer to the bottom.

For this price range, the wiser investment would be on those other offerings.

    Cheers!

April 7, 2023 - PnP. This is good, but pretty young. Lots of red and blue fruit with aftertastes of spice and green peppers. Pretty tightly wound. Would benefit from a long decant. Suspect it will earn a point or two with a longer decant / aging.

February 11, 2023 - Decanted 8 hours. Needed all that time. Fruity, but not jammy. Very elegant and complex. Nose is perfume. Superbly made.

October 7, 2022 - I’m reading through these 95+ tasting notes…for $200 let’s be real…14.9% alcohol, you put up with that BS elevated level trying your best to ignore the sadly so obvious heat in search of crazy good fruit, well the fruit on this La Bam is just ‘alright’. that’s a 92 point adjective.

September 4, 2022 - Last tasting was exactly a year ago. Had this for LDW Sunday paired with steaks on the grill. This was a winner among all family members tasting. Much more accessible and starting to enter a great drinking window. I don’t know how well Carters age because I can’t keep my hands off drinking them young. Really great wine -you get the hallmark notes of LPV.
