August 31, 2023 - Hadn't opened one of these in a while and was looking through the cellar for a mid-week bottle of something and grabbed this. Great little winery in Walla Walla and have always enjoyed their stuff.
I remembered this was pretty good for it price point and looked back at my notes and put an 89 on it twice before on 12/19 and 4/22.
Wow has this thing changed in the last 16 months.
Has a little of The Rocks funk on the nose, it’s not as pungent as some, but enough to dominate the smell. Common characteristics of the better wines from this area.
On the pallet though there is no funk to be found. Lots of ripe Blackberry, Blueberry and Boysenberry, but not jammy. Slight peppery finish. Nicely integrated tannins. Great spot to be drinking right now.1 person found this helpful 145 views
