Community Tasting Note

  • OregonLoafer Likes this wine:

November 5, 2023 - Very impressed with this offering, particularly at the $28 price. At a listed 13.0% ABV, this is light on its feet and, showing the vintage, nonetheless shows a surprisingly high intensity of flavor. Herbal, loamy red fruit is backed by a slightly drying acid and maybe some tannins. I’d guess there’s some stems in this.

This is apparently almost entirely Eola-Amity Hills fruit, and it has some of the characteristics of other producers in the area that I like, such as Evesham Wood and Walter Scott. It also reminds me of Goodfellow in its structure and light touch. Really enjoyed it.

11/6/23, 8:02 AM - Thanks - I had picked up 3 at the Woodstock location!

Plus 3 Mellen Meyer and 6 McKinlay :)

11/8/23, 10:37 AM - I put one entry level McKinlay in my case. Now I wish I did more. So many solid entry level
Pinots on the market. Suggest Cooper Mtns Cooper Hill bottle. ‘21 is fantastic and the ‘22 is really good. Found at NS and TJs.
