  January 23, 2024 - This is a well made wine but I don’t like the blend. To be the cab is pushed far to red right fruit from the Syrah leaving a lean midpalate that gets crushed by blue preserve-like fruit from the cab franc. I will avoid such blends from Ovid in the future.

  2/28/24, 12:06 AM - Interesting, someone has been urging me to try OVID for awhile, I never have. Sounds like it wasn’t your cup of tea though. Maybe the 2011 vintage didn’t help?

  3/1/24, 9:06 AM - I don't know the sourcing of the various blends, so it may be that the CS was less ripe and the CF was too ripe for such a lean cab. I would agree too that the CS tannins aren't there to backstop the franc, so perhaps I let it go too long?
