  March 31, 2006 - What can be said that hasn't already been written about this wine. I love it when good bottles actually live up to the hype and this one is freaky good. Deep maroon in color. Blood, anise and spicy fruit on the nose. Super tight tannins numb the tongue and take hold giving way to licorice, coarse pepper, mushrooms, a hint of menthol and dark fruit. 45 seconds + of power! Heavy mouth feel and the overwhelming feeling that this monster was created by Dr. Frankenstein himself. Looking forward to enjoying this in a few years when it starts to mellow a notch. 97 points easily.
