March 13, 2010 - Amazing!! Anyone, who wants to see the tannins, fruit and acid come together in harmony. Pour this and leave it overnight in a glass and drink it next morning for bfast! It was exquisite and jammy and wonderful expression of a st.julien wine. When I opened this the night before, it was decanted for about 4 hours already (I leave some in glass to periodically taste), and looked back at the ratings of 95, 97 and while I was tasting, I was not going to score morethan 85. It was harsh tannins and acidic finish, but still enough fruits to carry it. The wine was clear, ruby red of medium intensity, nose was restaint with dates, almonds, new oak. On the palate evidence of black fruits, dates, cigarbox, sweet spice. The taste the next day was similar except, the elements had come together to be jammy and pleasurable to drink. The tannins were complety soften!! Bravo. Yes it is outstanding!
