  May 1, 2010 - Julia's 50th (Old Rectory): A half bottle as an afterthought at the end of this very self-indulgent dinner, to follow earlier halves of Climens '59 and Yquem '01. Straight from the cellar. Deeper colour than the '01, and very appley on the nose and in the mouth. Tarte Tatin was Julia's verdict. Long, and very good indeed, but not remotely in the league of the '01. Perhaps a little unfair to judge it so late and at the end of a heavy evening.

  5/4/10, 1:04 PM - sounds like a seriously good night. Interesting that a almost perfect vintage that should start to close in on maturity is topped by the young 2001. A similar "showdown" would be interesting in another 10 years.
