May 8, 2010 - I opened this for Mother's Day dinner 2010 to serve with lobster and filet that I bar-b-que'd and it was lovely. Still a nice dark red, a bit of a purple hue and lovely black fruit on the nose. Blackberry, dark cherry, a bit of forest floor and mineral and a medium finish. If you are lucky enough to have some of this wine from the only year Ch Montelena bottled a merlot, I suggest you drink it soon. It did get a bit tired after a couple of hours, but we enjoyed it immensely and bought some more when we were at CM recently.
