June 6, 2010 - Wine-Soaked Weekend at Baker's Mill (Baker's Mill - Appomattox, VA): i was really surprised by how young this wine still was. it's nowhere near it's prime. but, nevertheless, i rated it a 92 because i loved it and just know it's going to be spectacular in another decade. it's got a lot of plum skins, smoke, cherry licquer and fig paste on the nose. the palate is rich, but not cloying or hot. just filled with caramel-covered cherries, smoke and a bit of charcoal. love the boldness of this wine, but would love to wait for the subtleties to come out with time.

6/6/10, 5:04 PM - Sounds delicious and look forward to having this. I would expect this to be great in 20 years +. I am finding '77s to be in their prime
