  July 23, 2010 - Had to take a step back before writing on this one. Right out of the gate, venturied, decent expression already on the nose. What I like to call signature "funk" from most Patty Green's I try. Deep red/purple core of fruit in the glass clearing at the rim. Dusty red cherry, pomegranate, some citrus, no oak, just all quality integrated fruit on the nose. Soft tannins, acid hits the mid palate, shorter finish but not a complaint. Fruit hits that edge of being enough, but leaving room to pair with food (and not saying that lightly). Balance of fruit, structure, and acidity. Nice work PG! Solid 91. Who knows what good things age will do.
