  May 25, 2011 - As of right now, this is my WOTY....yes, of the year. What an amazing bottle. Bright cherries jumped out on the nose, and everything else classic about his wines was present. Great story about his bottle. In 95, 4 of us along with a very well connected "tour guide" got us an appt with Jacques Reynaud at 5pm. Since we were going out to dinner afterwards, the two ladies were in heels and little black dresses. While Reynaud professed to know no english, our guide was fluent in french so we were able to communicate with him. He told many stories, but when we asked to taste something, he said nobody gets to taste without going into the vineyard with him for a lesson in vineyard management. Well, it was mistral time and the winds were blowing 50+ mph, and he made the ladies tramp through some rows of vines in their night-out dress, in the wind, but we did it his way and it was worth it. We tasted several very old vintages which he refused to identify. They were awesome. When we asked to buy some wine, he said one bottle per person for $50. He puled out two bottles of 90 and 2 89's, without labels. When we asked if he could label them, he brought out blank labels and signed each label, then told us to write on the label which vintage we had. End of a great story, except for now drinking our final bottle.
