  July 23, 2011 - This bottle showed a disjointedness I have never experienced with Alban syrah. Great nose with lots of intensity: black fruit, tanned leather, asphalt. Initial attack is promising, then things begin to fall apart. Mid palate is empty, with an almost stripped flavor profile. Everything seems to be in its right place, but there is just no flavor. Finish has an equally watery-wine like flavor. Very odd considering the sheer size and instensity of the wine.
