  February 12, 2007 - Love those Elderton Commands! Have found the 2000 and 2001 to be slightly more enjoyable than the 2002 (slightly... not much!) and after decanting for 2 hours it was the perfect accompaniment to the BBQ lamb my wife and I enjoyed for dinner. jamesbadd's notes from 7-3-06 are spot on and future bottles of this vintage will sit for another year or two before opening... hard to believe it'll get any better but we'll see what another year or two in the bottle will do. Bottom line is that it's really hard to go wrong with the Elderton Commands... along with the E & E Black Peppers, these are among my very favorite shiraz's.
