March 9, 2013 - Shows promise, although it seemed closed over the two days I drank it. Elegant, silky, medium-bodied.

3/9/13, 2:28 PM - Jeff leve made the statement that he didn't know if the '08s would ever shut down, but that is exactly what they are doing. Maybe they won't sleep as long as some, but I am seeing a few of the '09s that are shutting down already. Thanks for the note. I'll hold the 2 bottles I have for 10 years, just to be certain they have come out of the great sleep.

3/9/13, 8:32 PM - Not surprising to hear, the 08' Troplong shut down on me pretty hard after about a year in bottle.

3/10/13, 11:59 PM - Thanks for the comments. I definitely think these will have an awkward period, and to be honest I'm not sure what I was thinking. My 08 pomerols and Pauillacs will be resting for a while. I've loved the Troplongs I've had but they are getting expensive. Perhaps the 08 is one to seek out?

3/11/13, 7:26 PM - I really think the 2008 vintage in the Right Bank is one of the better vintages if you enjoy Cab Franc. I think that in time the '08 vintage will show better than '09 and even '10. VCC and Le Evangile were great grabs for me in '08. Looking at the prices for '09 and '10 nearing the $300 mark, I wouldn't hesitate to garb more '08 from the Right or Left Banks. I might grab some more Pape Clement from Graves just because its half the price of the latter vintages.

3/12/13, 12:13 PM - I can at least can attest to the 01' and 05' VCC's not being worth the price of about $110, and $220 respectively. Tasted more like $40-50 dollar wines, though I did slightly prefer the 01'. Have also tried an 02' from them, nice but I don't get the mystique quite yet.

3/14/13, 9:12 AM - I hope the 2011 VCC lives up to the hype, as I bought a case!

3/14/13, 1:21 PM - Well the critics definitely seem to love it across the board, wish you luck!
