Community Tasting Note

  • RobertDwyer Does not like this wine: 78 points

May 21, 2013 - Interesting thing here - I've never had an "off" bottle of Meiomi across a couple cases. Until now.

Although I rated a prior bottle 91 points, the bottle I opened last night was dull and almost pruney. So strange! It's a screw cap so it's not like it was corked. But it was definitely off. But I can't say which flaw it might have been so I'll rate it for what I tasted.

5/23/13, 2:14 PM - I've been having similar off tastes with pricy pinots (e.g. Sea Smoke). When I reported this to the winery they suggested the wine got overheated in transit to the East Coast, something I certainly couldn't deny--or confirm. But I'm wondering if there isn't some new (or old) wine fault (call it "pruny pinot") affecting the wine....
