March 14, 2014 - For a start, I must say that I'm very surprised that this wine is still very much alive! The 1977 Chateau Musar is chalky and murky brick in colour with a nose of dried prunes, dried red dates and dusty cedar. Very perfumed and developed on the pretty enticing nose. Lots of red dried dates on the palate accompanied with dusty wood and dried tabacco. The wine does its best to push for a medium finish - It's still in a drinking window I'm sure.
