July 4, 2015 - Deep, dark garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges; almost opaque. Full, fragrant, attractive & complex nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & blueberries with kirsch & garrigue overtones, floral notes, dried Provençal herbs, earthy, dusty, spice notes, some sandalwood & mint, licorice, beefy, leather, minerals, a hint of pepper followed by cedar. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of complex, smooth textured, well balanced, seamless, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, tart cranberries & dark plums with herbs, exotic spices, anise, pepper, mint, minerals & toasted oak. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing, but it is still in its ascendency with the potential for further development from additional 5-8 years of aging.
