October 22, 2015 - 2015 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/19/2015-10/27/2015 (New York City, NY): Floral and blue fruit elements permeate the nose and palate of this deep ruby, full-bodied red. Supported by fresh acidity, seamless alcohol and medium-weight, sweet tannins, the fruit and flowers are accented with melted licorice, coriander and dried herbs. Layered and solid in the middle, it concludes with a lengthy, structured finish. Many great Châteauneuf offerings will drink well for the first 2-3 years of their life, go dormant, then re-emerge after 7-10 years. I suspect that this will be one of them. That said, my drinking window will begin immediately. Drink now-2030.
