April 10, 2016 - Elegant and old school but approachable now for the price!
Transparent color with lighter body and youthful acid. Has some young and grippy nebbiolo tannins but nothing jarring for drinking in 2016.
nose of ripe strawberry, tart cherry, new leather, old fashioned candy and a very floral aroma profile.
matching red berry palate with added sweet licorice, crushed stone minearlity, and more obvious flower and herb character. think fresh violets and a whiff of rosemary. The young tannins accentuate a bitter and tangy game note but it's complementary if anything. No new oak presence.
delicate and complex with enough tannin to stand up to richer dishes. Great nebbiolo for the cost! (~$36) Drink now-2022.1 person found this helpful 4,852 views
