September 9, 2016 - A stunningly good bottle of Bordeaux tonight. This is drinking so well now with a gorgeous classic Pauillac nose of graphite minerals and deep blackberry fruit. On the palate, it is showing a beautiful, aged soft texture with delicious, ripe flavors of blackberry and cassis. Quite plush but then finishes with good crisp tannins and lovely chocolate and mineral notes. From magnum, this is rich and singing now as the Merlot is especially prominant but it will probably still improve given the firm tannins. 93+

9/15/16, 1:21 AM - Thanks for your note and rating. Great to read. We have heard others glow about this luvly. We have one bottle we are thinking about sipping circa 2020. Great Chateau!

9/16/16, 4:19 PM - Not many got it right in 2003 given the extreme heat but both Pichon's made lovely wines. Just beware that these 2003's are on a faster evolution scale than normal and will mature earlier than a more typical vintage like 2000 or 1996. If in magnum, then worth the wait until 2020 but bottles are probably at their best over the next couple of years. And believe me, I'm a necrofiliac when it come to aging wines...
