  October 17, 2016 - Decanted and tasted with the 1996, 10th bottle of a case of 12 and the last 2 have been disappointing. All very classic, but the hard tannins and edges of 1995 are still there and I suspect the fruit is beginning to lose the battle. the 1996 was softer with more fruit and classic cedary maturity. I have had other 95s that are also losing fruit but holding tannin structure, so my bet would be drink sooner rather than later as I cant see it improving from here. Needs food.
