October 31, 2016 - Deep dark garnet in color with bricking & clearing at the edges. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of mature, ripe fruits aromas of cherries, blueberries, dried figs & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & tar notes, floral notes of roses, sandalwood/cedar, aged tobacco, truffles, anise, dark cocoa, minerals, spices, smoky & dried herbs. Medium bodied with good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, mature, ripe dark fruit flavors of sour cherries, blueberries & plums with earthiness, mushrooms, spices, licorice, minerals, herbs & some toasty oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & may be at or quite close to its peak of development so make plans to drink it up soon.

11/1/16, 2:13 AM - Thank you for the note. When you say 'drink up soon' how long do you think?

I have a case which I am going to start on soon, and I was planning on drinking over the next ten years (depending on how it holds up)

Do you think I should expect to drink it considerably quicker?

11/1/16, 7:56 PM - Whitejamesn: It depends on a number of factors. How is it stored? This bottle was stored in ideal conditions since its initial purchase. How do you like your Brunellos? For me, this one was at a perfect place right now as to maturity. However, I have heard complaints from others that this Brunello producer has a tendency to mature quicker than others. Hope this helps.
