November 10, 2016 - A beautiful, mature, complex and soft CDP from one of the best in the business. Too expensive to be a good QPR wine. Recommend at least an hour if not longer in the decanter. With proper cellaring this still has a long ways to go but not sure there is much upside to further extensive cellaring - I don't think this is going to improve much more. Garnet purple with some peripheral bricking, medium bodied, soft mouth feel, well integrated, elegant and complex with a surprisingly long aftertaste. Nose rich, complex and dark once the funk blew off with herbs, smoke and dark plum. Softer then expected and very well integrated complex flavors of grilled meats, smoke, garrigue, cassis, dark plum and lighter notes of rose & violet. Pairings ? - game meats, lamb, veal, duck, grilled meats, mushrooms, French country cooking, most anything with Mediterranean spices but not too rich or spicy. Highly recommend this wine.
