January 25, 2017 - Leoville Barton at Gordon's (Gordons Waltham): color garnet and showing some age on edges. nose has a medicinal earthy stewed vegetable quality. made me wonder about provenance. swishing reveals stern tannin and fading fruit. sipping the same. maybe not a perfect example, but if so would drink up.

1/2/18, 7:32 AM - I also just had a disappointing experience with the 1995 LB which was tight, disharmonious and unrewarding, and seemed a little thin and drying towards the end. I would expect it to come out of its shell if let alone for a few years, but I am not convinced that the wine will be more palatable then.
