  March 13, 2017 - I recall first trying this CdB at the winery release (Mar '09), thinking then how tightly coiled this was but hoping it would unwind someday. Well, someday came and went and did not disappoint. This one started out with a lovey nose of black currants and hints of pencil lead, which carried through to the palate and was complemented by tobacco and some spice. Held some for day 2, and the spice was more prominent and the fruit was a bit deeper and sweeter, adding some blackberries and black cherries to the mix. Tannins were well-integrated too. Overall, this seemed youthful, cab sauv-like and just entering its drinking window. Should drink effortlessly well for several more years.
